Welcome to the Health Data Analytics Programme

Thank you for signing up for this Mentorship Programme.
Thank you for signing up for HDAMP 2026. This is not a typical coding class. Over the next 15 weeks, you and I are going on a very interesting journey, we would be exploring what it really means to be a data scientist, we would work through various data science projects together, from finding the question, to cleaning the data, analysing it, and publishing your finished work on GitHub.
Start day 26th of September, 2026
Weekly meet up.
We would be meeting once a week to review and discuss all we have been able to work on for the week .
Saturdays
Time - 9am - 12pm
On Sundays new week plan and projects would be rolled out by 6pm
Before the programme, do these 3 Things
-
Join the Community
-
Create a GitHub Account
-
Set up Google Colab
JOIN THE DATA COMMUNITY
Hello world!
Over the period of the programme, you would be divided into groups, the aim of these is to make learning easier and hold your hands through this journey. We would be working on projects weekly; progress would be tracked through our groups.
- Meet other participants
- Ask questions
- Share your progress
- Continue learning together
- Present your projects
CREATE A GITHUB ACCOUNT
GitHub is a popular online platform where developers store, share, and manage their computer code. This is where we would be saving and showcasing our projects.
At the end of this programme, I aim that each individual should have about 6 projects published on their platforms.
This would give you a place to store your work and serve has your individual portfolio and allow you to have a share your project with employers.
SET UP GOOGLE COLAB
Google Colab is the free platform we will be using during the programme to write and run our python code.
No installation is required- everything works directly from your browser.
How to set up
- Visit the Google Colab website
- Sign in using an existing Google account or create a new account.
Need not worry, we would go over the how to set up these accounts during the programmes and we would also have the introduction to Python

I’m passionate about using data to understand health and solve problems that affect people and communities.
My journey sits at the intersection of public health, healthcare and data. I’m interested in how we can take real-world health questions, find the right data, analyse it, and turn what we discover into insights that can support better decisions, better policies and better health outcomes.
I also believe that data science should be accessible to everyone. You don’t need to come from a traditional technology or data background to learn how to work with data and use it to answer meaningful questions.
That is why I’m passionate about creating opportunities for people, especially students and those from non-traditional backgrounds, to develop practical data skills. The goal is simple: to help you move from asking a question, to finding the data, analysing it, understanding what it tells you, and using those insights to solve problems that actually matter.
